How do I know Jesus?

Many people have heard about Jesus but really know very little about Him.

There are holidays such as Christmas and Easter commemorate His birth and His resurrection.  Perhaps to some He is someone we sing about at Christmas time.  To others He is thought of as a prophet or a religious teacher.

But whatever you know or think of Him, the question is this, do you know Him personally? Do you know that Jesus died and rose again for you?  He did not come to start a spiritual or religious movement. Jesus came because He loves you and wanted to provide a way for you to know Him.

God loves you so much He desperately wants to have a relationship with you but there is something in the way. Because God is holy sin separates us from Him.  The Bible tells us that all of us have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God. We cannot perform well enough, do enough good, check enough boxes or score enough points.

God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross to pay the price for our sins and bring us into a relationship with Him. Through Jesus, we can know the promise of eternal life and experience the joy of knowing God here on earth!

If you would like the freedom found in a personal relationship with God through Jesus, the Bible tells us that the first step is acknowledging that you have sinned and that there is nothing you can do to earn His love.  It is a gift offered through the grace of God.  Next, believe that Jesus died for you, confess that Jesus is Lord and commit your life to Him.

We would welcome the opportunity to talk with you about this or answer any questions.  Simply complete the form on the Contact page and we will quickly get back with you, or you can call the church office at 512-863-6576 and ask to speak to one of our pastors.

If you would like to accept Jesus as Lord of your life right now, you can do that wherever you are. Simply talk to God and express your desire to Him. If you don’t know what to say, here is a simple prayer you can use:

Lord, I confess that I am a sinner and have sinned against you. Please forgive me of my sin.  I acknowledge that I could never be good enough to earn your forgiveness and eternal life with you, but I come to you by your grace accepting and trusting in what Jesus did for me on the cross.

I believe that you love me, and that Jesus died and rose again so that I can be forgiven and become your child. I ask You to come into my heart and be Lord of my life.  Thank You for loving me so much that you made a way for me to have a relationship with you now and spend eternity with You in heaven.

 In Jesus name, Amen.

If you prayed that prayer or something similar, PLEASE let us know.  We want to celebrate with you and pray with you.  Just like a newborn child needs to be nurtured to grow, new believers need someone to walk alongside them as they grow in their new life in Jesus. We would love the opportunity to help guide you or answer any questions.

If not us, tell a pastor or Christian friend who will help you understand what ‘s next. A couple of important next steps are to find a Bible believing church to connect with and find a godly mentor who will help disciple you as you learn the ways of God and how to live your new life in Christ Jesus.
